Appointments

Scheduling:

Appointments are available for individual therapy, as well as for couples counseling. Sessions usually last 50 minutes for individuals, and 75 minutes for couples. I offer convenient hours available to fit your schedule. You can usually arrange to have a first appointment within a few days.

Payment:

My standard fee is $200 per 50-minute hour.

I accept cash and checks. While I do not accept third party payments, I will be glad to provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network provider reimbursement.

Insurance:

While I have participated in managed care panels in the past, I no longer do so for some very important reasons.

The primary reason is the lack of confidentiality provided by managed care organizations. When working with a client through a managed care plan, I must disclose anything and everything related to my client's case to the managed care organization. Because the relationships I build with my clients and the work we do together are based on the highest standards of trust, I find my work and those relationships compromised by the lack of confidentiality offered by managed care plans.

Additionally, these organizations often limit the number of treatment sessions a client can seek, regardless of the needs of the client. Therefore, it is my choice not to serve on any insurance panels or managed care panels.

However, I will be happy to review the terms of your insurance, which may cover some of the cost of counseling.
